Anna Pavlova 1881 – 1931
Anna Pavlova, Russian ballerina, the most famous dancer of her time.Pavlova studied at the Ballet School at the Mariinsky Theater since 1891, in 1899 she joined the Tsarist Ballet and became prima ballerina in 1906. In 1907 she and several other dancers went on a European tour to Riga, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Berlin and Prague.Another tour took place in 1908. In 1909, Sergei diagnosed the historical season of the Russian ballet in Paris and London. After the tour, she realized that she wanted to become independent and left the theater.She started to ride solo and wanted to show the whole world the beauty of classic ballet. After leaving the Mariinsky Theater, she danced in New York and London with Mikhail Mordkin in 1910.After 1913 she danced herself with her ensemble around the world.
