Description

Émile Fernand-DuBois (1869–1952)

Originally Belgian, sculptor, lived and formed in France. He studied under Jules Dalou (1838 – 1902) and August Rodin (1840 – 1917). He settled in Cosne-Cours-Sur-Loire, where he contributed to the founding of the Musée de la Loire (Museum of Art and Ethnography) and became the first curator. His work prevailed war monuments, which are located in several French cities. The best known are Calais and Cosne-sur-Loire.

Since 1902 he was in the Office of the Ministry of Education, in 1921 he won the Albert Maignan Award in the salon of French artists, 1923 gold medal in the salon of French artists, 1932 acquires the order of honorary legions.
