This porcelain sculpture was designed by the sculptor Jan Znoj in 1938 for Krásná jizba (a center for modern design and interior culture in Czechoslovakia). It was produced by the porcelain factory in Březová (Pirkenhammer). The motif is based on the Baroque sculptural group of St. John of Matha, St. Felix of Valois, and St. Ivan—created by Ferdinand Maximilian Brokoff—located on the Charles Bridge in Prague.
The porcelain factory in Březová (Pirkenhammer), near Karlovy Vary, was founded in 1803 by Friedrich Höck and ceased operations in the 1990s.
