About Jindřich Pileček: This artist, who lived from 1944 to 2002, became famous as a graphic artist and illustrator with a focus on precise drawing. After studying at the Karlovy Vary School of Fine Arts, he continued in the studio of Professor Svolinský at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. In his rich career, he combined free graphics with architectural realizations, with nature being his main source of inspiration. He became particularly famous for his dreamy landscapes, which he processed using the techniques of the old masters, as well as for his rich illustration work for bibliophile prints. He was an active member of the Hollar Society and the Union of Fine Artists. His legacy is preserved by prestigious institutions including the National Gallery in Prague, the Prague City Museum of Fine Arts and the National Literary Monument.
