Maurice Auguste Chevalier
(September 12, 1888 in Paris – 1 January 1972)
French actor and chanson singer. Maurice Chevalier became famous for his stage performance in Paris, London and New York. At the age of 30 he became a film Hollywood star. During his film career he made over 50 films, he was most often seen in the role of an elegant gentleman in a hat and a bow tie. His most famous songs include Louise, Mimi, Valentine and Thank Heaven for Little Girls. Since the 1960s, he also appeared in some Walt Disney films, with whom he was associated with close friendships.
