Description
Nikolaj Bakulin (1896 Moscow – 1962 Prague)
Russian painter, studied at the School of Fine Arts in Moscow (1914-15). He painted portraits and narrative compositions. In 1924 Bakulin worked as a set designer for the Russian Theater Company in Prague. Later he headed the Art School at the Russian Academy of Sciences and was one of the founders of the Union of Russian Artists in Czechoslovakia, from 1931 he was its chairman. In 1951 he obtained Czechoslovak citizenship.
