Nikolaj Bakulin (1896 – 1962)
Russian painter, studied the School of Fine Arts in Moscow (1914-15). He painted portraits and narrative compositions. In 1924, Bakulin worked as a stage designer for the Russian Theater Society in Prague. Later he led an art school at the Russian Academy of Sciences and was one of the founders of the Union of Russian Artists in Czechoslovakia, since 1931 he was his chairman. In 1951 he acquired Czechoslovak citizenship.
