Description
Pablo Gargallo (1881 – 1934) was a Spanish painter and sculptor. He was born in the town of Maella in the territory of Aragon. He later moved with his family to Barcelona, where he began to devote himself to art. He is devoted to metal sculpture, some of which have the form of cubism. He works also with bronze and marble. He lived most of his life in Paris. In 1903, he founded his own studio and became a friend of Pablo Picasso. At that time he is influenced by his work. Gargallo is an important representative of the avant-garde in Spain at the beginning of the 20th century.
