The bronze statue depicts a trio of elongated figures riding horses. The front riders are depicted with attributes of hunters or warriors, while the rear figure carries a ritual vessel on his head. The sculpture shows typical features of the Chad region – geometrically simplified anatomical shapes of the animal and delicate linear decor of the harness.

In the traditional context of the ethnic groups of the Chad region, these equestrian sculptures served as powerful ritual objects. According to the natives, this statue gave protection. It was supposed to ensure the favor of spirits, protection from enemies and bring prosperity, safety and luck to its owners during hunting and in battle.
