Description
Augustin Drašar (November 4, 1893, Studánka – date of death not given) was a Czech academic painter, illuminator and teacher, whose work and professional life were closely connected with Olomouc and the region of North Moravia.
From 1917 to 1922 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague in the studios of prominent professors August Brömse and Vratislav Nechleba.
As an artist, he actively participated in artistic life in the Olomouc region. He was a member of the Regional Center of the Union of Czechoslovak Fine Artists in Olomouc.
Drašar was mainly engaged in figurative and decorative painting, landscape painting and illustration. His style is based on classical academic training.
He often depicted Olomouc and the surrounding landscape. He regularly exhibited his works at the House of Arts in Olomouc, for example at member exhibitions in 1951 and 1958.
