Leoš Smejkal
Leoš Smejkal, born in 1973 in Ústí nad Labem, is a Czech glass artist and designer. He is known for his work with glass, especially for his perfect craftsmanship and metallurgical techniques.
From 1987 to 1993, he studied at the Secondary School of Applied Arts and Glass in Kamenický Šenov, where he studied glass cutting under the guidance of Professor Ladislav Oliva. He subsequently continued his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava in the glass studio.
He works as an independent artist and is valued as an excellent glass cutter.
In his work, he uses techniques such as glass blowing, cutting, hand shaping and silvering.
